Our Story History
Utility Services of America is the first African American-owned Overhead and Underground Electric Distribution Line Clearance, Construction and Emergency Response Power Restoration Holding Company. Founded in 1992 by Chairman KB Stallworth, the company has provided line electric line clearance, construction and consulting services to public utilities and municipalities from Michigan to Florida. Expanding from its Energy Clearance operating unit to Energy Construction, and the Energy Group, Utility Services of America sold all interests in the Energy Group in 2016 allowing Chairman Stallworth to focus on consulting services and community economic development initiatives in his retirement. Today while no longer owner of the Energy Group the holding company through its subsidiaries and partnerships provides a full range of specialized consultant services and equipment financing domestically and in Africa.
